Federal Judge Richard Leon chastised Maryland for pressing ahead with a risky Purple Line contract and for rolling the dice with taxpayer money – even while the State knew full well that a lawsuit was proceeding in federal court.

The Judge held the hearing on June 15 because Maryland is claiming “harm” from the delay that his order is causing. The State is requesting – for the third time – that the Judge overturn his own order which suspended the project pending further review.
