Parks are needed in Lower Montgomery County
Montgomery County Gazette (Letter to the Editor)

Dear Editor:

Regarding the June 2 story, Urban parks look to be a priority in county. Bravo!

Lower Montgomery County is very urban and unfairly low on parkland.

Luckily, citizens here have already taken initiative to transform the old railway between Silver Spring and Bethesda into a lovely linear park on land the county already owns.

Now it’s time, County Council, to drop the Purple Line and recognize this park for what it is: an irreplaceable asset for the health and happiness of our community.

Let the people keep the park.
